Bathroom plumbing planning

Bathroom plumbing planning

Choose fixtures before rough-in

Send specifications for the bathtub or shower, shower valve, toilet, sink and faucet, including any owner-supplied products. Confirm which fixtures stay in place and which are moving.

Allow access for the plumbing

Identify wall, floor and ceiling access and whether the bathroom is the only one available. Discuss shutoffs, drain locations and the sequence of rough-in, inspection and final connections.

Separate plumbing from finishing

Agree responsibility for demolition, waterproofing, tiling, cabinetry, electrical work and surface repairs. The written scope identifies plumbing supply, installation, testing and any finishing exclusions.
