Suspected natural-gas leak

If you smell natural gas or suspect a leak, leave the affected area immediately and keep others away. Do not use electrical switches, phones, appliances, flames or vehicles near the suspected leak. Do not try to ventilate the building or operate the gas meter.

From a safe location, call Liberty at 1-800-994-2762 and choose option 1, or 911. Give the exact location. For an outside leak, stay clear of the area.

Read Liberty’s natural-gas safety instructions. Ordinary appliance faults can be discussed with Matrix Mechanical after any immediate danger has been addressed.

Burst pipes, loss of heat, a failed water heater, or sewage backing up can cause significant disruption. Call Matrix Mechanical and describe what is happening, when it started, and whether water, heat, or gas equipment is involved.

• The affected fixture or equipment and what it is doing now
• When the problem started and whether it is getting worse
• Visible water, an error code, unusual sound, or another detail the team should know
• Accessible photos, equipment details and previous repair information, only when safe to obtain
